Six months after releasing “We sing for you! Ben Rimba”. The band had written two songs that were going down a storm at gigs. Wanting to seize the moment we turned to the label to fulfil the second part of the Exit Music deal.
Mother Itto always said if you’ve got nothing nice to say you shouldn’t say it all. The band/label & studio went their separate ways.

Nottingham punk band The Smears had just recorded at Random Recordings, and with Amusment Parks on Fire guitarist Dan Knowles behind the desk produced an awesome sound. We self-financed the sessions and recorded our best sounding tracks to that date -by a country mile! We were so happy with it we even shot a music video.

Looking back you can hear in these three tracks the cracks starting to show… “Cinnamon” is a howling rock’n’roll wall of noise/frustration/rage and lust. It’s the sound of a band collapsing in on itself. The schizophrenic soundscape Sons Of Itto occupies had never been clearer as on the opposite side of the coin we have “You People Are Crazy”, an Itto spin on 70's west coast rock has the band at its most upbeat and accessible... also with B-side “don’t hate me because I’m beautiful, hate me because I’m fucking your sister” an electro-pop tongue-in-cheek ode to lovelorn, teenage Emo kids.
